Luncheon with Steve Dettelbach

  • McClendon Room of the National Press Club 529 14th Street NW Washington, DC 20045 (map)

RSVP

Please join the Cleveland Club for a luncheon with Steve Dettelbach, President Biden’s Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on Wednesday, September 9 from noon to 2:00PM in the McClendon Room of the National Press Club.

Steve currently serves as the Chair of BakerHostetler’s global Litigation Group, composed of more than 430 lawyers. He recently returned to the BakerHostetler partnership for the third time, having completed his ATF Directorship during 2022-2025.

Steve was the first Senate-confirmed Director of ATF in seven years. In that role, he led a national law enforcement agency composed of over 5,000 agents and staff dedicated to reducing violent crime. During Steve’s tenure, ATF saw three straight years of significant reductions in violent crime, including firearms violence.

During 2009-2016, Steve served as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio where he prioritized anti-opioid efforts, civil rights enforcement, fighting corruption, and combatting terrorism, among other efforts.  Steve was the Democratic nominee for Ohio Attorney General in 2018. He has also served for more than a decade as a decorated career federal prosecutor and civil rights attorney, as well as Counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary in the wake of the 9/11 attacks and the Enron financial scandals.

Steve is married and has two children, who like him are loyal (and eternally hopeful!) Cleveland sports fans.

Cost is $35 per person, which includes the National Press Club buffet, not including beverage. You must be registered to attend. Space is limited to 25 persons so we suggest registering early.
