In honor of President Garfield, who died from an assassin’s bullet on September 19, 1881, the Club presents Charlie Goodyear talking about this remarkable but little known U.S. President. Born in poverty in Northeast Ohio but developed into a creative mathematician, lawyer, successful Civil War general, Congressman and President, Garfield was an extraordinary man.
